Concrete floor sawing – how is it powered?

With the cost of energy at the top of many minds this winter, you may be looking at energy usage on your construction sites. Such locations see a multitude of machines and operators working together, whether on concrete floor sawing, drilling or other heavy work. At National Drilling Services we are aware that there are construction companies in the UK which have high ambitions to become carbon neutral or at least reduce their footprint.  So how can we help? Many of our machines that we use for concrete floor sawing, as well as other drilling and cutting tools, can be operated using different power sources. These include 3 phase electric, petrol and diesel. Often the decision on which source of power to use will be dependent on access to electrical sockets or the airflow in the area. For indoor environments we generally recommend 3 phase electric to power our sawing and drilling machines to avoid the risk of fumes.

Where can it be used?

Traditionally concrete floor sawing is used to make cuts in road surfaces, metalled footpaths, bridges, transport yards or depots and car parks. These concrete areas or slabs may require cuts to be made for trenching, demolition or jointing work. However, we are not restricted to working in these areas.  If you have other concrete slabs that need sawing the operatives at National Drilling Services can work in all kinds of environments and in fact, they love a new challenge.

What depth?

Project Managers do ask us about the restrictions on the depth of the cuts that we can make with our concrete floor sawing equipment.  With a variety of different sized diamond blades available we can create cuts up to 500mm deep, which is usually plenty deep enough for trenching, joints or floor chases. Ask us about different widths and lengths of cuts that we can make using our concrete floor sawing machines. Your site manager will also be interested to know that if you engage National Drilling Services to carry out your concrete floor sawing, it is faster and safer than other traditional methods of cutting concrete.  Whether you need to remove a concrete slab or make a cut for utilities, this method will help you to meet your work schedule deadlines without cutting corners on safety.  National Drilling Services take safety of our operators and others working near them on site very seriously.

To discuss your concrete floor sawing requirements including the depth, length and width of cuts call us and talk to one of our team on 0161 443 2822.  You can also make an enquiry through our contact page.
